Because of the limited depth perception and night vision goggles cause, operating a motor vehicle can be a difficult task. In the Army, it takes a lot of practice and training in order to drive a car, fly a plane, or operate a helicopter with night vision goggles on. While it is possible, it is definitely not recommended that you try it if you happen to own night vision goggles. It is actually illegal for you to do so, as you will be driving with an impairment. If you are a pilot and want to use night vision goggles to help you see at night, then you’re going to have to get some special training in order to do this. You can be in big trouble if you do not have the proper certifications in order to do so. In fact, many color deficient people are not even allowed to operate planes and helicopters during the evening.
