Young Galaxies Viewed Closer to Creation

When you receive the Seal you are not yet perfected. You are “young” compared to the maturity that will perfect you as years pass. Just like your own youth is the youth of galaxies astronomers have found recently.

When you are sealed God writes His Name upon you. When you bear God’s Name you anticipate years of growth to become worthy of God and show His glory to the world.

Some of the glory of God is being shown to the world right now–glory that is from “out of this world.” And yet the glory of the observable Heavens can tell us much about the grandeur of God and His creation.

An international bunch of astronomers finished a project they planned for years. They had the difficult task of securing the world’s largest telescopes all night every night for almost 2 weeks.

And that is how long they looked at one small little section of night sky–92 hours in that one place. This had the effect of letting a photograph expose for quite a long time. They could see very faint objects from very far away.

These objects are thought to be “teenager” galaxies or “baby” galaxies. They are considered proto-galaxies, the beginning of galaxies which will mature into the adult galaxies we know of today.

Light seems to us to travel quickly. But it takes a long time to travel the vast distances of the known universe. The light caught in the eye of this study is reputedly 11 billion years old or more.

That is a long time. Longer than man can easily comprehend. But it is an indication of the promise of eternity. Forever is much longer than 11 billion years. Forever is infinite.

This light 11 billion years old is light from only 2 billion years after the supposed Big Bang, the theoretical even when the universe exploded into being. Light this old is from when galaxies were still forming.

This study is going to tell scientists a lot about how the universe formed. This is good knowledge to have since it will help us understand God’s creation of the universe, and knowledge of God’s creation can only help people.

And scientists consider this finding to be “unprecedented” in magnitude. Never before have astronomers been able to look back at the building blocks of galaxies, which requires considerable depth of observation.

The research is planned for publication in the March 2008 issue of the Astrophysical Journal, and will resolve some heated arguments scientists have had for 30 years about the origins of the universe.

But you know that the ultimate origin of everything is God. He created the universe and the little world we now call home. Looking far back in time is an awesome experience giving a sense of the scope of God’s infinite nature.

And it is more than just an experience. The more we understand about how God created the universe, the more we can use that knowledge to benefit us in the present day. Science will solve a lot of problems.

Speaking of solutions, God wants you to solve a problem right now. The problem is that you have not always been close to Him, and this is the generation of the devil. But you can change all that today.

You can get closer to God today and experience some of the awe of His creation and His everlasting Presence. You can win the victory over the devil and get closer to God by receiving the Seal.

The big bang theory being that the universe started with literally a big bang (13.7 billion years ago), and expanded to what we have today.

The Hubble Space Telescope was launched on 24 April 1990. The cost was $1.5 billion US dollars, and required the help of hundreds of people to make it so.

Having launched the Hubble Space Telescope on the 24 of April 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope was deployed the next day on April 25 1990. The designated amount of time for the mission was 20 years; which makes the Hubble Space Telescope to come to decommissioning about the year 2010.

The Hubble Space Telescope also has had some important servicing missions. Servicing mission 1 began on December 1993. The second servicing mission – servicing mission 2 began on February 1997. The third servicing mission – called Servicing mission 3A, began on December 1999. And the last servicing mission for the Hubble Space Telescope was on February 2002, and was called Servicing mission 3B.

The Hubble Space Telescope moves at a speed of 5 miles per second, around the planet Earth! It only takes the Hubble Space Telescope 97 minutes to make 1 revolution around the planet Earth. And the Hubble Space Telescope has a speed of 17,500 mph! Nothing on land and sea can approach those speeds, currently that we know of.

The Hubble Space Telescope can look at everything, within its limitations, but it can not view the Mercury or the Sun.

The first image that the Hubble Space Telescope took a picture of, was a star cluster. On the 20th of May 1990, less than a month of being deployed, the Hubble Space Telescope took a picture of Star Cluster NGC 3532. The NGC 3532 star cluster got its nickname “The Wishing Well Cluster” because the twinkling stars in this Open Cluster resembles silver coins shimmering at the bottom of a Wishing Well.

The Hubble Space Telescope has given us so many beautiful pictures of the objects in our universe. With so many discoveries, it is a shame that the Hubble Space Telescope will be decommissioned over the next few years. However, NASA is planning on a new project that will surpass the Hubble Space Telescope, though this is one that will not be taking optical pictures.

A Chilling Report From NASA

Who can believe or trust what the historians have to say? What is the truth of history? Then we have all of these doomsayers who are writing about the possibilities of the end of the world- or at least as we know it. However, we now have a report from NASA, a SCIENTIFIC report if you will, that speaks of the real possibility that we may be facing a major catastrophe, mainly due to what we think is the solution- technology!  

The US National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in January released a very chilling and sobering report.
In essence, the report contends that plasma balls spewed from the surface of the sun could wipe out our power grids, with catastrophic consequences beyond repair. For those of us in Houston who went without electricity for two days to two weeks have a clue about what life without POWER might mean; however, for a year or more? Is that life sustainable with the population that we have today?
More specifically, Daniel Baker, a space weather expert based at the University of Colorado in Boulder, and chair of the NAS committee responsible for the report, said, “We’re moving closer and closer to the edge of a possible disaster.” That is sort of to the point!  :-(
It is hard to conceive of the sun wiping out a large amount of our hard-earned progress. Nevertheless, it is possible. The surface of the sun is a roiling mass of plasma – charged high-energy particles – some of which escape the surface and travel through space as the solar wind. From time to time, that wind carries a billion-tonne glob of plasma, a fireball known as a coronal mass ejection. If one should hit the Earth’s magnetic shield, the result could be truly devastating.
So, what’re the odds? There is none. It just could happen, and it has happened before.
The incursion of the plasma into our atmosphere causes rapid changes in the configuration of Earth’s magnetic field which, in turn, induce currents in the long wires of the power grids. The grids were not built to handle this sort of direct current electricity. The greatest danger is at the step-up and step-down transformers used to convert power from its transport voltage to domestically useful voltage. The increased DC current creates strong magnetic fields that saturate a transformer’s magnetic core. The result is runaway current in the transformer’s copper wiring, which rapidly heats up and melts. This is exactly what happened in the Canadian province of Quebec in March 1989, and six million people spent 9 hours without electricity. However, things could get much, much worse than that.
We’re living by grace far more than we can imagine, but the sooner we look at HOW we’re living, the better we might be able to anticipate and prepare for real-life possibilities be they on December 21, 2012, or tomorrow.

How Digital Photography Has Changed Professional Photography

The introduction of digital photography has changed many things not the least of which is professional photography. In the past it took several weeks from the time of a sitting to the time a customer was actually able to receive professional photographs. Part of this process involved waiting a week to see the proofs from which a customer would choose the finished photographs he wished to purchase. Today with digital photography, it is just a matter of days until the customer can view the photographs on the computer. Then he can choose the ones he wishes to purchase.

The age of digital photography has made a huge impact on the world of professional photography, not just for the photography studio but also for those who take professional photographs for various events as well. For example, it means those who wish to have a professional photograph from a prom or graduation can take the photograph home with them in many cases. With the smaller digital printers it is possible for a photographer to print pictures at an event rather than asking those wishing to have pictures to wait to receive them in the mail. This, of course, depends on the space allotted to the photographer and the number of people who are attending the event in question.

Another way digital photography has impacted professional photography is the smaller size of the digital camera and the ease of use. The professional cameras that were used in the past tended to be rather large and were often complicated to use. Film processing alone was an expensive and complicated process that required special courses if one wanted to pursue a career in professional photography. That doesn’t mean photographers no longer need to go to school to learn about the field, but it is certainly not as complicated as it once was. The cost of expensive processing equipment is also eliminated and has been replaced with digital photo printers and a computer. The initial cost is much lower in comparison to buying all of the darkroom equipment that was once necessary for film processing.

We have seen many changes in digital photography since it was first introduced in the 20th century. These changes have had a major impact on the photography industry as a whole and will continue to do so as technology changes and new and better digital photography equipment enters the market.

The xx – Stars

I’m not one for posting videos, but I saw this band live the other night and thought they were fantastic. I noticed there was only 1 or 2 other videos of their stuff so I thought I’d upload this to help drum up interest. They’re a group of 19 year olds from London and are exceptionally talented.
